When was the last time you checked in on your stress level? It’s easy to forget to check-in on ourselves when so much is happening in the world around us. Especially when we’re busy taking care of our loved ones. The most dangerous thing about stress is how easily it can sneak up on you. You don’t notice how much it’s affecting you.

Over time, stress and tension can build up in your shoulders, neck, and stomach and make you feel as if you are in knots. Very often it is your overactive mind or thoughts that make you feel stressed and anxious.  By focusing on a mantra instead,  you can give your mind a much-needed break and stop stress in its tracks.

Even a one-line mantra and a few seconds of repeating it can reset and reprogram your brain enough to feel less stressed. In turn, we feel less stuck, more in control and more confident when dealing with everyday stressful events.  A mantra can change your stress levels at that particular moment with a single session or can change the way you manage stress from now on with repeated practice.

Whenever you notice that you are breathing too fast and your chest is tight, take a minute to pause and repeat a stress-reducing mantra to yourself.

Repeating a stress-relieving mantra can be powerful and help remind you that although you may not be in control of everything in life, you are in control of how you feel. Your thoughts often drive how you feel, and if you learn to manage your thoughts then you can also learn to manage your feelings.

We’ve put together a few stress-reducing mantras so that the next time you notice that you are breathing too fast and your chest is tight from stress you can take a minute to pause and repeat one of the following:
